P&B was formed in 1961 and is a major manufacturer of electrical contacts in the UK. Its two facilities in Kent and Yorkshire are equipped with the latest technology and the company has attained BS5750-ISO9002 quality standards.
Presswork - With presses ranging from a capability of 15 to 60 tonnes, the company is able to produce in excess of 750 million components annually. To complement the press shop, the company also has a range of multi-slide machines for producing more complex components.
Welding - P&B is able to produce welding components in volume at high speed, to the highest quality.
Bonded Strip Production - P&B has 3 separate departments for the production of bonded strips. It uses both cold and hot bonding techniques
Rivets - Solid rivets are still widely used, particularly as changeover contacts. P&B has production capacity exceeding 500 million rivets per annum with head sizes ranging from 1.5 to 10mm diameter.
Brazing - P&B can offer hand-touch, resistance and controlled atmosphere furnace brazing to cover both low and high volume requirements.
Sintered Products - Sintered contacts are manufactured as discrete pieces for subsequent attachment to carriers by welding or brazing. The sintered process has unique properties such as low arc erosion, long-term contact stability and resistance to welding.
